(Port) Wine of the month August 2019: Quinta de La Rosa Tim Grande Reserva 2015

For the very first time Sophia Bergqvist and her top enologist Jorge Morreira bottled a white Grande Reserva at La Rosa. “Tim” is a homage to her father, who has sold estate Ports and wines since 1988. The grapes origin from an old “vinhas-velhas” lot with mixed grapes with mainly Viosinho, Gouveio and Arinto. The wine ages six months in French oak and another 18 month in the bottle before being sold. Vivid yellow color. Very complex bouquet with well integrated yellow fruit in perfect balance, but the palate reveals full power of the wine. Perfectly supporting, fine acidity, quince and apricot. The acidity also very nicely contributes to the aftertaste with medium length. Much looking forward to the next edition from 2017. 18/20
